Choose a short name for your Microsoft account, using letters and numbers only (no spaces or dots), starting with a letter. It becomes your sign-in address — enter smudgehosting and your users will sign in as name@smudgehosting.onmicrosoft.com. Most people use their company or website name without the .com. You can add your own domain later; this is used as part of the setup, but stays as the account's permanent address, so it can't be changed once your account is set up. If the name you choose is already in use by another organisation we'll be in touch to pick another.
